I cannot get my TS-2000 to work with Gpredict in satellite mode

I am close to throwing in the towel. I have packet, APRS, cross band repeat, Skycommand with my TH-d72, etc. working on my TS-2000. But I cannot get it to work with Hamlib/rigctld and Gpredict on a Windows or Linux machine. I have spent a couple of weeks on and off trying everything I have found in the forums and I have extensively quizzed AI. It worked once or twice but not reliably. Seems that I can get the uplink VFO(sub) to track, but not the downlink VFO(main). I have tried everything possible. Does anyone have this combo presently working?

I have Hamlib/rigctld and Gpredict working with my FT-736R in full duplex, on both Windows and Linux, so I understand how the system should work.

maybe some screenshot of your screen, can give some of us better view to understand your problems

I’ve made some good progress since I last posted. Doppler tracking is now working. This is on a Windows 10 desktop with a real 9pin serial port.

My rigctld command line: \hamlib-w32-3.3\bin\rigctld -m 214 -r COM2 -s 19200 -t 4532 -C serial_handshake=Hardware,write_delay=5 -T 127.0.0.1 -v

I reverted to an older hamlib, slowed the baud rate to 19200 and added hardware control with a 5mS write delay.

In the device manager for the com port, I lowered the receive buffer to 14 and transmit buffer all the way to 1. I think 1 is no buffer at all.

Gpredict…pretty standard ts-2000 setup.

I tried so many different things that I saw on different forums and then I quizzed AI. I can’t say for sure exactly what fixed my problems but I would have to say going to an older version of hamlib and slowing things down with hardware control is key. The TS-2000 has to be the proper state when rigctld is launched.

Next task - getting this to work on my Linux laptop. Then on to rotor control.

I would still like to hear from others who have this working and maybe see their configuration for comparison.

My backup is a FT-736R that tracks perfectly with no fuss but the computer only sends data to the radio - the radio doesn’t echo anything back to the computer. A limitation of the early CAT implementation in the 736R.
